write a memo that provides a list of multiple policy options.

Assignment Instructions Continuing with the same threat area AND policymaker that you chose in Assignment #1, write a memo that provides a list of multiple policy options. AND pick one option as YOUR recommendation. Explain WHY you chose that option. Each option will describe: • the issues specific to that idea, • terms necessary for that option, • anticipated reactions and objections, • advantages and disadvantages of the policy. DO NOT include the pages that you wrote in assignment #1. Following your ideas of the advantages of each policy, RECOMMEND one of the options to the key policymaker you chose for the last assignment. Although most policy recommendations do not include citations, this one will. You need to cite ALL of your information. This assignment should be about 8-10 pages, double spaced, TNR 12. (Remember that this page count does NOT include the policy backgrounder from assignment #1.) You need to provide three policy options regarding the policy issue you addressed in your first paper for a specific policymaker to consider and address each of the aspects listed in the assignment instructions for each of the policy options your provide (i.e., specific issues; necessary terms; anticipated reactions and objections; and prioritized advantages and disadvantages of the policy). You need to conclude by recommending one of the policy options and providing a compelling justification for your recommendation by comparing the anticipated reactions and objections and prioritized advantages and disadvantages you have identified for each policy option. Since this assignment must be at least 8 pages in length (can be longer without penalty), the breakdown of your paper should be something like the following: Introduction, Context, and Brief Background – 1-2 pages Policy Option 1 – specific issues; necessary terms; anticipated reactions and objections; and prioritized advantages and disadvantages of the policy; 2-3 pages Policy Option 2 – specific issues; necessary terms; anticipated reactions and objections; and prioritized advantages and disadvantages of the policy; 2-3 pages Policy Option 3 – specific issues; necessary terms; anticipated reactions and objections; and prioritized advantages and disadvantages of the policy; 2-3 pages Policy Option Recommendation and Justification – based upon comparing the anticipated reactions and objections and prioritized advantages and disadvantages you have identified for each policy option; 2-3 pages. I hope this helps you to better understand the requirements of this assignment. – Policy options are national-level solutions to the issue you have selected; – Issues of the policy options are the substance of each policy option, especially those that differentiate each policy option from the others (e.g., anticipated reactions and objectives; advantages and disadvantges; etc.) – Advantages refer to things that the policy option will allow the government to gain and/or benefit from, while Disadvantages refer to things that the policy option will cost the government, require it to give up, and/or that will not benefit the government.
