Potential topics might include how to propose, how to make meatballs, how to go to college while also raising children and working a full-time job, how to write a thank you note, how to win a wing eating contest, or how to grow tomatoes. The possibilities are endless. Your poem should blend detailed information with advice. You should try to get at the heart of what the experience is about and how to do it. You should used the assigned readings as a model for your poem. Your poem should not rhyme. It should be titled “How to (fill in the rest with your subject matter)” and directly address the reader using the pronoun “you.” Be creative and have fun! |
