Read verses and notes listed in Leadership Issues: Man-Appointed Leadership in the Maxwell Leadership Bible (p. 1617). Read verses and notes listed in Leadership Issues: Self-Appointed Leadership in the Maxwell Leadership Bible (p. 1619). After reading these sections: Evaluate Blackaby & Blackaby’s comments regarding “secular or spiritual” leadership in light of Maxwell & Elmore’s Leadership Issues: Calling. Consider the definitions of leadership (both secular and spiritual) found on p. 32 in Blackaby & Blackaby. Compare and contrast a secular view of leadership with the concept of God-appointed leadership. In doing so, discuss Maxwell & Elmore’s comments in Leadership Issues: Man-Appointed Leadership and Leadership Issues: Self-Appointed Leadership. Convey your thoughts about these readings (What did you agree with, disagree with, etc.). In discussing these elements, provide examples from your experiences or readings that illustrate the points made by Blackaby & Blackaby and/or Maxwell & Elmore.
