Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. Ephesians 4:15 NIV This verse if one we often associate with those conversations we have when we are going to lower the boom on someone about something they’ve done wrong. We’re going to knock them in the head, but do so with a kind tone and soft words. I think there is a better way for us to think about it. Speaking the truth in love can be “Hey, your presentation was crazy good” or “I’m SO glad you decided to drop by today”, or “I can’t imagine anyone I’d rather be sitting by right now.” You get the drift. Telling someone how great they are or how highly you think of them can be a great way to follow the instruction we are given in this verse.
