Case analysis is a task common to many forms of professional education in which students are asked to examine a lifelike situation. This assignment is designed to assess students’ general understanding of the main theories covered in class. In this assignment, students will choose an organization or a department of a university that they are interested. Students are expected to identify the organizational structure and related issues, highlight potential causes and explore potential solutions. Students are also expected to use organizational theories to explain the case and provide possible solutions. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answer. Instead, we are expecting a persuasive argument for a particular course of action, supported by relevant pieces of evidence and/or rationale.
